More Than a "Safety Culture"
It’s cliché to say an organization has a safety culture. At Precision Honeycomb, safety is the prism of practical thought that all activities are filtered through before they are acted upon. The later should never precede the former. We believe when contemplating any activity, the first degree of thought will be what are the associated risks and how will they be mitigated.
Leadership Sets the Standard
Precision Honeycomb’s management team sets the bar for safety standards and holds both themselves and the organization accountable for meeting them. Our internal message when it comes to safety practices is, “we don’t do these things to make the job more of a hassle. We don’t do these things to avoid a fine or an admonishment from some regulatory agency. We don’t do these things to keep from being sued. We do these things because we don’t want our people to be sick or injured.” For our people to believe that, they have to believe that their leadership believes that.
Training and Repetition are Key
For nearly every activity it’s ideal to develop a current best practice and adopt it organization wide. Your way and my way yields to the “Precision Honeycomb” way. We establish practices, we train to them, and we measure against them, always with an eye towards evolution and continuous improvement.
