*We are a fabricator of engineered core details. We do not manufacture or distribute honeycomb sheet stock. We can source material specific to your job for you. Or cut parts from material you have already procured.
Some Types Of Materials We Cut/Work With:
Our services include honeycomb and foam core fabrication of parts for use in aerostructures. We have 5 axis machining centers equipped with state of the art cutting tools, many we design and build ourselves to assure maximum quality of features and surface finishes. We have a premium duty, multi-speed, multi-angle bandsaw for use in table cutting of core parts, templates, fixture blanks etc. Our Bridgeport Mill is a multi- use piece of equipment we use for fixture and tool building, making brackets, tapping holes etc. We have a full range of various power and hand tools that support production on a daily basis.
The competitive advantage that Precision Honeycomb enjoys lies within our technical capabilities and our innate understanding of how to get honeycomb to do what we want it to do. Which in many cases, is not easy.
Precision Honeycomb is proud to be a member of the Aerospace Community. It’s a privilege and a responsibility that we take seriously. We hold ourselves accountable to the high standards our customers demand, and we demonstrate that commitment through successfully attaining these important accreditations.
Many parts made out of Core can be expensive and fragile. A risky combination when those parts need to travel. When necessary, we have a full arsenal of in-house and outsourced custom packaging solutions to protect your parts during transit.
Both metallic and non-metallic cores including aluminium (5052/5056), nickel, stainless steel, Nomex, Kevlar, craft, glass, phenolic coated, and various other composite materials.
Standard tolerance is +/- .030 at the edge of part, +/- .006 thickness, +/- 2° bevel angle. Tighter tolerances are achievable dependent on core material type, core density, and cell size. Precision Honeycomb engineering can assist in all phases of design analysis to help you understand what is, and is not, possible when machining core.
Material availability is often a driver of lead time estimates. As is the complexity and volume of your particular job. Once a PO has been issued and the material is on-hand, a typically quoted lead time would be 4-6 weeks. When machine time and material are available, we have turned jobs around in as little as 1 week. Precision Honeycomb will always go the extra mile to meet customer requirements and timing.
Precision Honeycomb is a “build to print” shop. We take your engineering package and produce parts to your specifications and tolerances. However, we are very good at “back stopping” your engineering. We are good at catching errors and making suggestions about potential part design changes that can make parts more cost effective to manufacture. We do have in-house tooling and fixture design capabilities for parts that require two sided machining or need to be formed.
Precision Honeycomb is experienced at all types of core forming, bonding, potting, and stabilization.
Yes. We have relationships witth many honeycomb and foam core manufacturers, so we can buy the material and provide you an all-inclusive price for your parts.
We are ITAR registered and work with NQA for our AS9100 and ISO9001 certifications.
Yes. Precision Honeycomb has a large oven that is certified to AMS2750F. We can provide you with a documented record of the full oven cycle that your parts undergo from ramp-up, to soak, to ramp-down.
